Elbow River operates a fleet of Bell Helicopters to support a variety of services such as fire suppression, initial attack, mineral exploration, drill moving, geotechnical support, construction support, filming and sightseeing. We specialize in work located in the mountains at high elevations.

Fire Suppression

Elbow River offers its services to all provinces and territories of Canada for their fire suppression efforts. We have invested in specialized operational gear; Bambi Buckets with power fill and variable dump valves; to ensure the provincial customer receives maximum value. All aircraft are equipped to be fire-ready at any time.

Heli Skiing

Elbow River has been involved in heli-ski operations in the Purcell Mountains near Panorama and currently heli-skiing in the Rocky Mountains of Mica Creek in British Columbia. Elbow River also provides private charters to the ski lodges from Calgary and Kelowna.

Mining and Construction

Elbow River has focused on offering logistical and helicopter support to mineral resource construction companies throughout Canada. Our mineral work has spanned the Arctic Provinces of Canada from Kukluktuk, Northwest Territories (formally Coppermine) to as far east as Iqaluit, Nunavut. Our construction work has included ski lift construction, support for construction of remote Avalanche (Gazex) systems, walking bridge and post-flood recovery construction.

Filming

Elbow River offers its fleet of helicopters and experienced aircrew to heli-ski operators in British Columbia. The Company is also involved in actitivities that support filming of advertisements, major productions and aerial scouting. Elbow River also offers sight seeing trips from both its Calgary and Fairmont Hot Springs Airport bases.
